Mountaineers Mrika and Arianit Nikçi have officially been recognized by Guinness World Records for achieving the fastest father-daughter ascent of the Seven Summits—the highest peaks on each of the world’s seven continents.
The duo completed this extraordinary challenge in just one year and 202 days, beginning their journey on January 25, 2018, and concluding it on August 15, 2019. This global recognition confirms the exceptional achievement of the two Albanian mountaineers, who conquered Everest, Aconcagua, Denali, Kilimanjaro, Elbrus, Carstensz Pyramid, and Vinson Massif within this remarkable timeframe.
This record is particularly significant as it comes from Kosovo, a small, young nation on the international stage, whose people are demonstrating courage, dedication, and world-class standards. For Albanians worldwide, this success is a source of immense pride and inspiration, showcasing that no dream is unattainable with willpower and commitment.
This marks a historic moment for Kosovo and all Albanians, as the country’s name is inscribed in the Guinness World Records for the first time for such an achievement in extreme alpinism. This record stands as a powerful testament to the potential and values represented by the Albanian people globally.
Mrika Nikçi also became the youngest female in the world to ascend these peaks, while Arianit Nikçi led this journey as a dedicated mountaineer and parent. Together, they have proven that dreams become reality through courage, discipline, family support, and a love for nature.
“This is a recognition that goes out to all who believed in our journey, and a message to young people: determination and passion can overcome any limit,” Mrika stated after the record’s confirmation.
“This is not just a personal success, but an appreciation for Kosovo and the entire Albanian nation. We are proud to have raised our flag high on the seven highest peaks of the seven continents and now also in the history of world records,” Arianit added.
