The United Nations Security Council is expected to convene later on Friday to discuss the recent Israeli airstrikes on Iran, reports Rks News.

The news was confirmed by diplomatic sources to the British media outlet The Guardian, stating that the meeting was requested by Tehran.

Iran has called for international intervention following the airstrikes, which it described as a flagrant violation of its sovereignty and a threat to regional peace and stability.

So far, it has not been disclosed whether the meeting will be open to the public or held behind closed doors.
