A protest had been announced for Sunday in the village of Muçivërc to demand the release of former police officer Arbnor Spahiu. However, according to organizers, the protest was cancelled after police denied them permission.
Lawyer Arianit Koci stated that the protest and its cancellation was not coordinated with him.
“This was not done in coordination with me. I had some information about it, but I didn’t have exact details neither when it would take place nor why it was cancelled,” said Koci.
He emphasized that he is fully focused on Spahiu’s legal defense and remains hopeful that Spahiu will return to Kosovo soon.
“An appeal will be filed, and we are waiting for the results. I’m working on preparing the defense, collecting the necessary evidence. That’s my focus, and I hope Arbnor returns to Kosovo as soon as possible,” Koci added.
As a reminder, Arbnor Spahiu was arrested by Serbian authorities and sent to pre-trial detention in Subotica for one month, under accusations of being part of a police unit involved in the Banjska attack.
