Alarm sirens blared in Tel Aviv overnight as a new wave of missiles was launched from Iran towards Israel, causing the deaths of at least 10 people and injuring around 200 others, Gazeta Sinjali reports.
According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), millions of citizens were forced to take shelter in bunkers, while one missile also landed in Jerusalem.
In retaliation, Israel announced that it had struck a series of targets in Tehran, including fuel depots and Ministry of Defense buildings linked to Iran’s nuclear program. The Iranian agency Tasnim confirmed damage to a building of this ministry.
The situation has escalated further with the involvement of Houthi rebels from Yemen, who stated they have launched hypersonic ballistic missiles “Palestine 2” towards Israel. They also warned of other coordinated attacks on Israeli targets.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump declared on Truth Social that if Iran attacks the U.S., “the full power of the American military will be unleashed upon them as never before.” However, American media report that the U.S. has no plans to directly engage in the conflict.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Israel might also target Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as part of efforts to destroy Tehran’s nuclear capabilities.
On the other hand, Iran has warned of retaliation against Western countries that aid Israel, stating that it has 2,000 missiles ready to be used against American, French, and British bases and ships.
