On Saturday, Kosovar authorities expelled two members of Serbia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs who were arrested on suspicion of endangering national security.
Mladen Milojević was deported through the Jarinjë border crossing and has been banned from entering Kosovo for the next five years, Serbian state broadcaster RTS reported Sunday.
He was detained at the Jarinjë border by Kosovar authorities, stripped of all Kosovo-issued documents, and expelled on national security grounds. His lawyer, Srgjan Mitrović, called the measure “politically motivated,” claiming that arrest procedures were violated.
Also on Saturday, Nikola Vujović from Zubin Potok was expelled via the Merdare border crossing at around 16:00.
Kosovo’s Acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, announced on Facebook that Vujović’s Kosovo citizenship had been revoked.
Sveçla stated that Serbia has employed Kosovo citizens within its own security and intelligence institutions, posing a threat to Kosovo’s national security and aiming to destabilize the country.
“As part of systematic efforts to internally destabilize the Republic of Kosovo, Serbia has employed citizens of the Republic of Kosovo within its security and intelligence institutions—an act that violates our laws and endangers our national security,” Sveçla wrote. “Based on relevant legislation, sub-legal acts, and institutional recommendations, I have decided to revoke the citizenship of Nikola Vujović for posing a national security threat as a member of Serbian police forces.”
