Yassamin Ansari, the youngest female member of the U.S. Congress and of Iranian descent, has voiced deep concern over how President Donald Trump is managing the escalating conflict with Iran, reports Rks News.
In an interview with BBC Newsday, Ansari said that Trump “changes his mind every day” and that “no one believes what he says.”
She referenced the troubled history of U.S. involvement in the Middle East—particularly the war in Iraq—and warned against further military interventions in the region. Ansari emphasized that the Iranian people are not the regime, noting that the overwhelming majority have opposed the Islamic Republic since 1979 and do not deserve to be bombed in their own country.
The congresswoman called for a diplomatic approach to avoid unnecessary loss of life, including the lives of American soldiers.
She urged Trump to focus on peaceful solutions rather than military escalation.
