Farmers from across Kosovo have been called to participate in a protest scheduled for July 2, 2025, in front of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development in Pristina, reports RKS News.
The protest is being organized in response to the Ministry’s decision to set the purchase price of wheat at 17 cents per kilogram — a price that farmers have described as unfair and unsustainable given the current economic conditions and inflation.
“All farmers across Kosovo are invited to join this protest. The price set does not reflect the reality on the ground, the cost of production, or the challenges that farmers face,” stated a representative of the farmers from Lipjan.
Representatives of the agricultural sector have warned that, if the government does not reconsider its decision, further actions may be taken to protect their interests.
The protest will take place on Wednesday, starting at 10:00 AM.
