In light of the increased number of citizens and vehicles traveling from Kosovo during the summer tourist season, a Cooperation Memorandum has been signed between the Albanian State Police and the Kosovo Police, establishing joint road policing services across the territory of the Republic of Albania.
The memorandum was signed by the General Director of the Albanian State Police, Ilir Proda, and the General Director of the Kosovo Police, Colonel Gazmend Hoxha.
The joint police services will aim to:
Prevent traffic violations and road accidents;
Manage traffic along main routes connecting the two countries;
Exchange best practices in road policing.
Director Proda praised the presence of his Kosovo counterparts as a valuable contribution and a symbol of pride, reflecting the harmony and coordination between the two police forces — not only in road safety, but also in their joint efforts against crime and illegality.
Colonel Hoxha expressed that the officers of the Kosovo Police are honored to serve citizens alongside their Albanian colleagues, and pledged full commitment to the successful implementation of the memorandum’s objectives.
