Kosovo continues to receive strong backing from Turkey in key areas such as security, economy, and European integration. In a recent interview, Fuat Oktay former Vice President of Turkey and current Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Turkish Grand National Assembly emphasized the importance of deepening bilateral cooperation and Turkey’s commitment to advancing ties at all levels, RKS News reports.
Oktay highlighted Kosovo’s strategic role in regional stability and cooperation within NATO, stating that Turkey fully supports Kosovo’s integration into the European Union and the development of its institutions.
“During my visit to Kosovo, I witnessed strong cooperation and trust both within the community and the command hierarchy. People feel safer,” said Oktay.
He also noted that Turkey will again assume command of KFOR this fall, demonstrating its ongoing dedication to peace and security in Kosovo.
In terms of economic cooperation, Oktay revealed that over 800 Turkish companies are currently active in Kosovo and Albania, with investments exceeding $3.5 billion. He stressed the importance of expanding trade and investment ties between the two nations.
Lastly, he announced that the Turkish Minister of Justice is expected to visit Kosovo in the coming days, as part of broader efforts to strengthen parliamentary and institutional collaboration between the countries.
