Today marks the launch of the new “One Stop” integrated border control system at the Tabanoc – Preshevë crossing, one of the busiest border points in the region.
This new system will consolidate border procedures into a single control point, significantly easing the flow of people and vehicles, especially during the summer season when traffic is expected to increase due to the return of migrants.
Minister of Internal Affairs, Pançe Toshkovski, stated that the implementation of this system will help reduce congestion at the border and speed up control procedures.
The “One Stop” system is already operational at Kosovo’s border crossings Bllacë and Jazhincë. Negotiations are underway to implement it on the border with Albania, while technical and organizational improvements are planned with EU countries like Greece and Bulgaria.
The Tabanoc–Preshevë crossing is currently the most frequented in the country, often facing long queues, particularly during the summer months.
