Kosovo’s acting government is expected to convene today. Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti is set to gather the cabinet at 10:00 AM, though the agenda for the meeting has not been announced.
Five Months Since Elections, Assembly Remains Unconstituted
Today marks five months since the regular parliamentary elections were held on February 9. Kosovo’s Assembly remains unconstituted, which is a necessary step before a new government can be formed.
This meeting comes amidst ongoing political deadlock. The Assembly is set to gather today for its 44th attempt to constitute the 9th legislature. The Constitutional Court has given deputies a 30-day deadline to constitute the Assembly.
Meanwhile, other pressing issues face the country, including 41 reported wildfires with 14 still active, and a court hearing scheduled today for five police officers suspected in the “negligent homicide” of a 27-year-old in Lipjan.
