During the Ukraine reconstruction conference in Rome, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy delivered a strong address, denouncing Russia’s actions as “pure terrorism” and calling on partner countries to boost support and investments.

Zelenskyy began by thanking the organizers and international partners for their support of Ukraine. However, he then issued a stark warning:

Russia also prepared for this conference. Just last night, they launched another massive attack on Ukraine, with our capital, Kyiv, as the main target. Now Ukrainians face hundreds of drones every night. And this is pure terrorism.

He further emphasized that the repeated attacks are not confined to front-line areas. Instead, they aim to inflict suffering on the Ukrainian people, force them to leave the country, and destroy homes, schools, and life in general.

Zelenskyy also dismissed Russian claims of readiness for peace talks, calling them merely “propaganda.” He reiterated the urgent need to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense systems and directly appealed to allied nations with the words:

“I call on all our partners: increase investments when Russia increases attacks.
