US Ambassador to the UN: Time to Close the UNMIK Mission

During her official visit to the United States, President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani held a significant meeting with Dorothy Shea, the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.

The news was confirmed by the U.S. Mission to the UN through a post on the social media platform “X,” emphasizing America’s unwavering commitment to Kosovo and its support for Kosovo’s full membership in the United Nations.

During the meeting, Ambassador Shea delivered a clear message, stating that the role of UNMIK (the UN Mission in Kosovo) has come to an end.

“It was an honor to meet with the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani. The United States views Kosovo as a close strategic partner and is firmly committed to its full recognition and membership in the United Nations. The time to close UNMIK, the UN mission in Kosovo, is now,” the announcement reads.
