Pristina, July 15, 2025 – In a press conference following her meeting with Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs in Riga, President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani addressed questions regarding Kosovo’s relations with Serbia and Russia’s attempts at regional destabilization.
When asked about Moscow’s influence in Kosovo, President Osmani was unequivocal:
“The influence of Russia in Kosovo is zero.”
However, she warned that the situation is very different in Serbia. In her words:
“I cannot say the same about the neighboring state of Serbia, because Serbia has turned into a satellite of Russia.”
President Osmani’s comments underscore growing concerns about increased Russian alignment with Belgrade—even as Kosovo maintains strong ties with Western partners.
