The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) has reacted to the Supreme Court’s decision, which confirmed that Vetëvendosje Movement (VV) MPs continuing to hold executive functions are acting in violation of the Constitution and current laws.
In its official statement, the LDK welcomed the Supreme Court’s “legitimate decision,” stating it “clearly confirms the unconstitutionality of the actions of VV MPs who, even after being certified by the Central Election Commission (CEC), have not withdrawn from executive positions.”
“The Democratic League of Kosovo welcomes the decision of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kosovo, which clearly confirms the serious constitutional and legal violations by MPs who, even after being certified as MPs by the Central Election Commission, have continued to exercise executive functions, in complete contradiction with the Constitution and the Law on Government,” the statement reads.
According to the LDK, the Supreme Court’s decision proves that some Vetëvendosje ministers have acted beyond all legal norms, unlawfully retaining power even after the government’s mandate officially ended.
“The Supreme Court has clearly found that ministers certified as MPs, in every decision-making process, are acting in serious legal violation, have usurped, and are exercising functions in an illegal and arbitrary manner after the end of their mandate,” the party emphasized, urging the Prosecutor’s Office to prioritize these constitutional violations.
