Igor Popović Placed Under 48-Hour Detention, Investigation Underway

Igor Popović, an associate of Petar Petković and assistant director of Serbia’s so-called “Office for Kosovo,” has been placed under 48-hour detention. This was confirmed by Veton Elshani, spokesperson for the Kosovo Police.

Elshani stated that the case is being handled by the Special Prosecutor’s Office and the Directorate for Serious Crimes within the Kosovo Police. “Igor Popović has been placed under 48-hour detention. The Special Prosecutor’s Office and the Office of the Director for Serious Crimes in Pristina are dealing with the case,” Elshani declared, adding that Popović is being held in detention in southern Mitrovica.

Popović is expected to be deported to Serbia following the detention period.
