Prishtina, July 19, 2025 — The Regional Water Company “Prishtina” has addressed growing complaints from residents over deteriorating water supply, attributing the problem primarily to illegal connections to the water network.
In a public statement, the company clarified that unauthorized hook-ups are overburdening the distribution system, making it difficult to ensure a fair and continuous supply to all consumers—particularly to those who regularly pay and adhere to regulations.
“We’re receiving comments like, ‘Veternik has no water and you’re asking for cooperation!’—and it’s precisely because of this that we are urging cooperation,” said KRU “Prishtina.”
The company emphasized that illegal tapping directly impacts responsible consumers, leading to disruptions and an inability to evenly distribute water across neighborhoods.
Authorities have called on all citizens to report suspicious activity and avoid illegal connections, noting that only through joint responsibility can the water supply system operate effectively for everyone.
