Gjilan, July 19, 2025 — The political party Guxo has officially announced architect Ilir Poroshtica as its candidate for mayor of Gjilan in the local elections scheduled for October 12.
The announcement was made by Guxo’s leader, Donika Gërvalla, via a Facebook post, in which she described Poroshtica as a highly respected professional with a strong sense of determination and humility.
“With the determination, confidence, and modesty of a top-tier professional, Ilir is entering this race to win — but the real winners will be the citizens of Gjilan,” said Gërvalla.
She emphasized the need for a candidate with Poroshtica’s vision and experience, stating that his background as a successful entrepreneur and well-known architect in Gjilan positions him to bring real and lasting contributions to the public sector.
According to Gërvalla, Poroshtica aims to build a team of experienced administrators and field professionals to lead a new chapter in local governance.
