The United Kingdom government is rapidly working to evacuate severely ill or injured children from Gaza to provide them with urgent medical treatment in Britain, a government spokesperson confirmed.
To date, several children have been treated privately through charitable organizations, while the government is finalizing an official evacuation program.
Among the recent arrivals is 15-year-old Majd al-Shagnobi, who will receive complex reconstructive facial surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.
The charity Pure Hope, which has assisted in the evacuation of some children, has urged the government to establish a program similar to the one created for Ukrainian refugees.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has pledged to accelerate efforts to support children in urgent need of medical care.
