Fort Stewart, Georgia – August 6, 2025 — Five U.S. soldiers were injured on Wednesday following a shooting incident at Fort Stewart, a major U.S. Army base in the state of Georgia. One suspect has been arrested, and authorities have confirmed that there is no ongoing threat.

The base was immediately placed on lockdown after gunfire erupted during regular military operations. In an official statement, Fort Stewart command instructed all personnel within the secured zone to remain indoors and to lock doors and windows for safety.

Military officials have not yet disclosed the motive behind the attack, and an investigation is ongoing. The identity of the suspect has also not been made public.

Fort Stewart is one of the largest military installations in the eastern United States, responsible for training and deploying both active-duty and reserve Army units.

Authorities say the injured soldiers are receiving medical care, and none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening at this stage.
