Washington, D.C., August 6, 2025 — U.S. President Donald Trump has been briefed on the shooting incident that occurred Wednesday at Fort Stewart military base in Georgia, where five soldiers were injured.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the President’s awareness of the situation via a statement on social media platform X.
“The White House is closely monitoring the situation,” Leavitt wrote.
Authorities reported that a suspect linked to the shooting has been apprehended, and officials have stated that there is no ongoing threat to others at the base.
Fort Stewart is a key military installation, home to both active-duty and reserve units of the U.S. Army.
