Arbër Cacaj, the son of fallen KLA fighter Nagip Cacaj, delivered an emotional speech during the protest against the perceived injustices of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers and in support of the KLA leaders currently detained in The Hague.
He stated that if his father is to be considered a criminal, then he is ready to accept the same label.
“In my house, there is an open grave — my father’s. But it’s not just my house — there are over 1,600 open graves. I still can’t even lay a flower on my father’s grave. Over 1,400 children never had the chance to grow up free. They didn’t live to enjoy this freedom — they were killed and massacred as children,” said Cacaj.
He expressed outrage that testimonies against KLA fighters are coming from individuals with criminal pasts, while the liberators remain in detention.
“Many of those criminals in The Hague are testifying against the liberators. If my father is a criminal, then so am I. Go ahead — come and tie my hands. This is not justice. This is disgrace. Freedom for the liberators!” he declared, receiving strong applause from the crowd.
