Hollywood star Angelina Jolie, 50, is reportedly preparing to sell her historic Los Angeles home and move abroad next year, once her twins, Knox and Vivienne, turn 18.
“Angelina has never wanted to live in Los Angeles full-time. She had no choice because of the custody arrangement with Brad. She plans to move as soon as Knox and Viv turn 18 next year. She’s looking at several places abroad. She will be very happy when she can leave Los Angeles,” a source told People magazine.
Jolie and her ex-husband, actor Brad Pitt, with whom she shares six children — Maddox (24), Pax (21), Zahara (20), Shiloh (19), and twins Knox and Vivienne — finalized their divorce in December 2024 after an eight-year legal battle.
The actress purchased the 1913 historic villa in 2017 for $24.5 million. The property spans over 1,000 square meters, featuring six bedrooms and ten bathrooms, and was once owned by legendary director Cecil B. DeMille.
Jolie has previously spoken openly about her wish to leave Los Angeles and spend more time in Cambodia, where her eldest son, Maddox, was born.
“I grew up in this city. I’m here because I have to be here due to the divorce, but as soon as they turn 18, I’ll be able to leave,” Jolie told The Hollywood Reporter.
She added that when someone has a large family, they want privacy, peace, and security.
“I have a home now to raise the kids, but sometimes this place… the humanity I’ve found around the world isn’t what I grew up with here. After Los Angeles, I’ll spend much more time in Cambodia. I’ll visit my family wherever they are in the world,” she said.
The Oscar-winning actress also emphasized that she enjoys being around the people she loves.
“I’m not someone who prays to be alone. I’m not that kind of person who thinks, ‘Ah, I’d love to be alone to have my secret pleasures.’ Because usually my secret pleasure is to be with someone. I like doing something that makes them happy. That truly makes me happy,” Jolie explained.
