The wildfire situation in Albania remains concerning, although some areas have stabilized. According to the Ministry of Defense, there are currently 23 active outbreaks, several of which are dangerous and difficult to contain due to rough terrain and the rapid spread of flames.
The most affected area is the Blue Eye in Delvinë, where a “Canadair” firefighting aircraft is in action. In Zhapokikë, Poliçan—where 20 residents were evacuated a day earlier—three helicopters are operating, including two sent from the United Arab Emirates.
The most intensive operations are underway in Velçan, Tërnovë, Kuç, Brataj, and Mali me Gropa, areas considered at high risk due to mountainous terrain and fast-moving fires.
Meanwhile, many outbreaks in Tirana, Dropull, Gramsh, Skrapar, and Berat have been brought under control thanks to coordinated efforts by firefighters, the Armed Forces, and volunteers.
The situation remains most severe in Fushë Arrëz and Mirditë, where fires continue to spread in difficult terrain, with over 150 personnel currently deployed on the ground.
According to A2CNN, the Ministry of Defense has stated that all responsible structures remain on full alert to manage the situation and prevent further spread of the flames.
