Human remains suspected to belong to at least one missing person from the 1998–1999 Kosovo war have been discovered in the municipality of Klina.
According to the police report, specialized units, in coordination with the Institute of Forensic Medicine (IML) and other relevant institutions, located the skeletal remains during a field operation.
The remains have been retrieved and transferred to the IML for further forensic analysis, with the aim of confirming the victim’s identity.
Kosovo Police emphasized in their 24-hour report that investigations will continue in close cooperation with forensic experts and institutions dealing with the issue of missing persons from the war.
