Vetëvendosje (VV) has proposed Hekuran Murati as the new Speaker of the Kosovo Parliament, marking the third candidate since the 8 August Constitutional Court ruling. Previous candidates, Albulena Haxhiu and Donika Gërvalla, failed to secure the necessary votes in earlier sessions.

During the latest session, the vote count was 57 in favor, 52 against, and 6 abstentions. Despite Murati’s nomination, it remains uncertain whether he will achieve the majority required to be elected.

Following the inconclusive vote, the session has been adjourned and rescheduled for next Sunday, August 24 at 11:00, leaving the political stalemate unresolved.

This marks another attempt by Vetëvendosje to consolidate parliamentary leadership following weeks of negotiations and political deadlock among Kosovo’s parties.
