A tragic incident took place two days ago in Anderlecht, Belgium, where 61-year-old Albanian Ndue Melyshi, also known as Noel, was shot dead by his tenant following a dispute in the Itterbeek neighborhood.

Melyshi, who ran the local café “Maison Haute”, was well-known among both Albanians and locals in the area.

World-famous actor Jean-Claude Van Damme reacted to the news with a heartfelt tribute.

In a Facebook post, the Belgian action star revealed that he was recovering from a back surgery in France but stood up to make the Albanian double-headed eagle gesture in honor of his late friend.

“Hello my friends all over the world.
I just lost a great friend, Noel Mylyshi from Albania. The circumstances were very difficult – I don’t want to go into details – but I want to send all my condolences and love to his family.
I am still recovering here in France after a small back operation, and I hope in a few weeks I will be strong enough. I am standing to make the famous Albanian symbol in his honor,” Van Damme wrote.

The actor’s tribute has touched many in the Albanian community, who remember Melyshi as a kind-hearted man loved by many.
