Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spent the morning expressing gratitude to global leaders for their messages of support on Ukraine’s Independence Day.

Earlier, Zelensky shared a letter from King Charles of the United Kingdom, in which the monarch conveyed his “deepest admiration for the courage and unbreakable spirit of the Ukrainian people.”

In addition to King Charles, Zelensky also received messages from Pope Leo, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Pope Leo emphasized the hope that “the clamor of weapons may cease, opening the way for dialogue and the path to peace” amid the ongoing conflict.

Similarly, Donald Trump called for an end to “pointless killings” and urged a “negotiated solution leading to lasting peace that ends bloodshed while safeguarding Ukraine’s sovereignty and dignity.”

Meanwhile, Xi Jinping, a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, sent a congratulatory message that did not reference the ongoing war in Ukraine, reflecting China’s public stance of neutrality since the conflict began.

These messages underscore the global attention on Ukraine during its national celebrations and the continuing international concern over the conflict.
