French President Emmanuel Macron has strongly condemned the recent Israeli airstrike on a hospital in Gaza, which killed dozens of civilians and journalists, calling the attack “unacceptable.”
Writing on social media platform X, Macron emphasized that Israel must “respect international law,” noting that France is working closely with Qatar to address the worsening crisis in Gaza.
“This is intolerable: civilians and journalists must be protected under all circumstances,” Macron stated.
He stressed that the press must be able to operate freely and independently to report on the reality of the conflict, while also underlining the urgent need to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid.
“We call on Israel to respect international law,” Macron reiterated.
The French president once again urged for a “permanent ceasefire,” the release of all hostages, the massive distribution of humanitarian aid, and a sustainable political solution—which, he added, must include the disarmament of Hamas.
