Nenad Rašić, leader of the Serbian party For Freedom, Justice, and Survival, confirmed to Radio Free Europe that he will self-nominate for the position of Deputy Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly representing the Serbian community.
During the continuation of the constituent session on Tuesday, Rašić was previously put to a vote by lot drawing but did not receive enough votes to be elected.
The newly elected Parliament Speaker Dimal Basha submitted Rašić and other candidates to a lot-based vote after the Serb List refused to replace candidate Slavko Simić.
Rašić is considered politically close to Vetëvendosje leader and acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti, signaling potential cross-community collaboration in the Assembly.
