Albulena Haxhiu, Deputy Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, stated that today could mark the final session of the Assembly. She emphasized that if all candidates for the Deputy Speaker position from the Serbian community are drawn by lot and none secure the necessary votes, there would be no reason to reconvene after 48 hours.

This session represents the last opportunity for Nenad Rašić, supported by Vetëvendosje, to secure the post.

Haxhiu stressed the importance of constituting the Assembly, noting that the alternative would be new elections, which they are not interested in pursuing.

“Today could be the last session because if everyone is drawn by lot and no one prevails, there is no reason to convene after 48 hours. It is important to constitute the Assembly because this situation leads to elections, and we are not interested in going that route,” Haxhiu said ahead of today’s session.

She added that even if PDK and LDK do not cast their votes, support is expected from AAK and NISMA.

“It is in their hands. If PDK and LDK refuse to do it, since we have said they are aligned with Srpska Lista, we expect AAK and NISMA to act,” Haxhiu explained.

Haxhiu also criticized the voting behavior of some Assembly members:

“It was unacceptable to see some raise their hands higher and higher for me, while abstaining for Srpska Lista,” she noted.
