The Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AGK) has been informed by the news portal Paparaci that cameraman Jetmir Muji has been arrested and is currently being held at the Central Police Station in Pristina.
AGK expressed that it is alarmed and deeply concerned about this arbitrary arrest and detention, calling on the Kosovo Police to release Muji immediately.
According to reports, Muji was filming a report about the schooling of President Vjosa Osmani’s daughters when he was stopped by her security detail. His camera was confiscated and he was asked to delete the recorded material.
AGK strongly condemned the arrest, labeling it as illegal, arbitrary, and an abuse of police authority.
The organization emphasized that this represents an unacceptable attack on media freedom and the citizens’ right to information.
