Charlie Kirk, a prominent conservative activist and one of the closest allies of U.S. President Donald Trump, has died after being shot during an event in Utah, CNN reports.
President Donald Trump announced Kirk’s death on Truth Social, calling him a “great and legendary” figure admired by all.
“Charlie Kirk, the great and legendary, has died,” Trump wrote.
“He was loved and admired by EVERYONE, especially by me. Melania and I send our deepest condolences to his beautiful wife Erika and his family. Charlie, we love you!”
Kirk was the founder of Turning Point USA (TPUSA) and played a key role in mobilizing young voters during Trump’s 2024 re-election campaign. His death marks a major loss for the conservative movement in the United States.
