Former U.S. Presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama have reacted following the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was shot during an event at Utah Valley University.
Biden strongly condemned the act, stressing that such violence must end immediately.
“There is no place in our country for this kind of violence. It must end now. Jill and I are praying for Charlie Kirk’s family and loved ones,” Biden wrote on X.
Meanwhile, Obama also condemned the attack, underlining that such violence undermines democracy.
“We still don’t know what motivated the person who shot and killed Charlie Kirk, but this kind of heinous violence has no place in our democracy. Michelle and I will be praying tonight for Charlie’s family, especially for his wife Erika and their two young children,” Obama stated.
Both leaders extended their deepest condolences and prayers to Kirk’s family in the wake of the tragedy.
