Prishtina, September 12, 2025Lëvizja Vetëvendosje (LVV) officially launched its campaign for the upcoming local elections on September 12. Party leader Albin Kurti, speaking from Skënderbeu Square in Prishtina, urged citizens to trust their vision of extending central government’s model of governance to the municipal level.

Change cannot be stopped. Opponents have tried to block it, but they have failed and will fail again. Not because we are strong, but because we are right; not because we are harsh, but because we are reasonable. We want a Kosovo that develops with justice and works for its people,” Kurti said.

He emphasized that citizens are tired of “lazy municipalities” and called for modernization, welfare, cleanliness, and security at the local level.

Imagine how many good investments could be made if local governments were run as efficiently as the central government. We want mayors who work day and night, not those who complain constantly,” Kurti added.

According to Kurti, the upcoming local elections on October 12 are an opportunity to extend careful and just governance to every municipality in Kosovo.

He praised current LVV-led municipal mayors, noting that their achievements are visible without needing to be discussed.

Together, we have saved Kosovo from the chains of corruption and division. We will free every municipality from the theft of other parties. Our vision of development focuses not on harsh concrete, but on green growth. We need mayors who cooperate with the government. Look at the accomplishments in municipalities led by LVV, such as Prishtina, which will soon have one of Kosovo’s most successful ministers, Hajrullah Çeku, as mayor,” Kurti said.

LVV currently leads in Gjilan, Podujevë, Kamenicë, Shtime, Mitrovicë North, and Leposaviq.
