Erika Kirk, wife of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, spoke publicly for the first time following her husband’s tragic death, describing him as a true martyr.
Charlie Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed on Wednesday during a public debate at the University of Utah Valley, where he frequently encouraged students to challenge political and cultural viewpoints.
Authorities confirmed the arrest of 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, suspected of the killing.
Erika Kirk’s Emotional Address
In a moving speech, Erika thanked President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Second Lady Usha Vance for their support.
“Mr. President, my husband loved you very much, and he knew you loved him too,” she said, standing beside a photo of Charlie Kirk.
She vowed that Turning Point USA activities will continue, including “The American Comeback Tour”, which resumes on September 18 at Colorado State University, as well as Kirk’s radio and podcast programs.
“His movement is not going anywhere. If you thought his mission was powerful before, you have no idea what has just been ignited across this country and around the world. You have given this country’s son a martyr’s crown, and now hear the roar of his work echo globally as a call to action,” Erika declared.
Personal Tribute
Erika, 36, began her relationship with Charlie in 2018 and married him in 2021. They had two young children, a 3-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son.
“He was the perfect father. He was the perfect husband,” Erika said through tears.
