The Basic Court of Prishtina has ordered a one-month pre-trial detention for the defendant K.A., who is suspected of the criminal offense of “Participation or Organization of an Organized Criminal Group” in connection with the illegal trade of weapons and explosives.

According to the court’s announcement, the pre-trial judge approved the request of the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo dated September 13, 2025, imposing the detention measure against K.A.

The court explained that detention was deemed a necessary and adequate measure, given the seriousness of the alleged crimes:

“If the defendant remains free, he could evade criminal proceedings, become unreachable for justice, destroy or falsify evidence, obstruct the normal course of the investigation, or influence other individuals potentially implicated in these activities,” the decision states.

The detention will last 30 days, and dissatisfied parties have the right to appeal to the Court of Appeals, through the Basic Court of Prishtina.
