Former Albanian Ambassador to the UN, Agim Nesho, stated that the suspension of the U.S.–Kosovo Strategic Dialogue represents pressure on Prime Minister Kurti’s government.

Nesho emphasized that Serbian nationalists could exploit this geopolitical situation.

Commenting on President Osmani’s and Prime Minister Kurti’s trip to the U.S., he clarified that it was not an invitation but a participation — stressing that the country’s leadership must maintain indispensable relations with the U.S.

“The suspension of the U.S.–Kosovo Strategic Dialogue is certainly pressure on the Kurti Government, requiring a non-provocative approach in this difficult geopolitical situation, given that there are elements, such as Serbian nationalists, who could exploit it. The visit to the U.S. was not an invitation but a direct participation, showing that both the President and the acting Prime Minister consider relations with the U.S. essential. Kosovo must invest more and develop a clearer strategy, especially in political lobbying. In front of a U.S. administration that does not always maintain increased attention on our region, Kosovo must be present in the U.S. This also relates to the quality and size of its embassies, as well as the strength of its lobbying groups,” Nesho told TV1.
