Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani met with U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Osmani said the meeting, initially planned as a protocol encounter, turned into a long and substantive discussion.

Acknowledgment of U.S. Role in Kosovo

“Thank you to President Trump for the special interest he showed in America’s irreplaceable role in Kosovo and our region, as well as for his tireless commitment to peace,” Osmani wrote.

She stressed that Kosovo’s friendship and alliance with the United States remain unbreakable, underscoring that her country will always stand on the side of democracy, freedom, and partnership with the U.S.

“That is where the heart of our freedom beats,” Osmani declared.

Strengthening Strategic Ties

The meeting highlighted Kosovo’s ongoing efforts to deepen ties with Washington at a time of heightened regional challenges. Osmani emphasized that the United States continues to be the main pillar of Kosovo’s security and sovereignty.
