Unidentified drones were spotted again during the night over military bases in Denmark, according to a midday statement from the Danish Armed Forces, reported by the German newspaper Bild.

The Danish police had earlier confirmed to the Ritzau news agency that they had received several reports about drone activity during the night, but none of the incidents led to the closure of Danish airspace over airports.

This development comes just days before an informal meeting of EU heads of state and government, set to take place on October 1–2 in Copenhagen. Key topics at the summit will include the protection of critical infrastructure and joint defense readiness in Europe.

As part of the summit’s security measures, the German Bundeswehr is assisting Danish authorities in ensuring the safety of the event.

Authorities have not yet provided details regarding the origin or purpose of the drones, while investigations are ongoing.
