Hamas has announced it will review a peace proposal presented by U.S. President Donald Trump, which calls for the group’s disarmament in exchange for an end to fighting, humanitarian aid, and a commitment to Gaza’s reconstruction.
The plan, unveiled Monday at the White House by Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has already received international backing. Netanyahu voiced full support, framing it as a path toward security and stability.
However, Hamas officials remain cautious. A senior representative, speaking anonymously to the Associated Press, said the group would begin internal discussions with allied Palestinian factions once the document is received through Egyptian and Qatari mediators.
“There is no timeline yet for a final decision,” the official added, noting that Hamas’s response will follow comprehensive internal consultations.
The conflict has left Gaza devastated, with more than 66,000 deaths reported by the enclave’s Health Ministry. Whether Hamas will accept Trump’s conditions—or reject them outright—remains uncertain.
