Israel announced today that it has deported 171 activists from the Global Sumud Flotilla to Greece and Slovakia, including renowned environmental activist Greta Thunberg.
According to Reuters, the pro-Palestinian group reported overnight that Thunberg would be flown to Greece today. She was among more than 450 activists detained by Israel after the military intercepted the flotilla last week.
The Global Sumud Flotilla is an international initiative aimed at challenging Israel’s blockade of the Gaza Strip and delivering humanitarian aid to the Palestinian population.
