The Democratic Party (DS) of Serbia, in cooperation with the Socialists and Democrats (S&D) parliamentary group in the European Parliament, has organized an exhibition titled “Serbia’s Turning Point – One Year After Novi Sad”, highlighting the ongoing political repression and civic resistance in Serbia.
According to the DS statement released on Monday evening, the exhibition, featuring photographs by Gavrilo Andrić, documents the repression faced by Serbian citizens and student movements over the past eleven months, showcasing their acts of resistance, solidarity, and community.
“Through this exhibition, Members of the European Parliament can gain a direct insight into the everyday reality faced by students and citizens in Serbia — marked by political pressure, violence, and media control — as well as into their persistence and courage to change this reality,” the party said, as quoted by Beta news agency.
The Democratic Party emphasized its determination to continue using all available political and international mechanisms to support the fight for freedom and democratic values in Serbia.
“Serbia is at a turning point between good and evil. Understanding from European institutions regarding the unsustainable political situation in the country, and the need for free and fair elections, is essential for restoring democracy,” the statement concluded.
The exhibition can also be viewed digitally on the official website of the European Socialists and Democrats.
