Former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has told the BBC that she may run again for the presidency, signaling her strongest hint yet of a potential 2028 campaign after losing to Donald Trump in last year’s election.

In her first interview in the United Kingdom, Harris said she “might” be president one day and expressed confidence that there will eventually be a woman in the White House.

Asked whether that woman could be her, Harris replied, “Maybe,” confirming that she is considering another bid for the nation’s highest office.

Harris dismissed polls suggesting she is an outsider among Democratic hopefuls for the next election, emphasizing her continued commitment to public service.

“I’m not done,” she said firmly. “I’ve lived my entire career as a life of service — and that remains at the forefront of my mind.”

She added that her nieces will “surely see a female president in their lifetime,” reaffirming her belief in the growing role of women in U.S. politics.
