The trial of the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) — Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, and Rexhep Selimi — will continue on October 30 at The Hague, in the case officially known as “Thaçi et al.”
According to IndeksOnline, the hearing is scheduled to begin at 09:00, with additional sessions to follow on November 1 and November 2. After these, the court will adjourn until the second half of November.
Two days ago, the Trial Panel reviewed the timeline for court motions and instructed Thaçi’s defense team to explore all reasonable options to ensure the availability of witnesses for all planned sessions from November 3 onwards.
The Defense was ordered to submit a status report on these efforts by Wednesday, October 29.
“The decision also clarifies schedule changes announced on October 22: the hearings of October 27–30 were canceled after Thaçi’s Defense informed the Trial Panel that no witnesses would be available that week. Additionally, an extra week of hearings (November 17–20) was added, considering unused trial days in September when no Defense witnesses were available,” stated the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in their notice.
