The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) have officially formed a coalition in Fushë Kosovë, aiming to deliver a more transparent and citizen-oriented local government.

The announcement was made by Bujar Osmani, LDK’s candidate for mayor of Fushë Kosovë, who described the coalition as a sign of political responsibility and shared commitment to advancing the municipality.

“This agreement reflects our political responsibility and shared will to move Fushë Kosovë forward through modern, transparent governance in service of all citizens,” Osmani wrote on Facebook.

A “Grand Coalition” for Development and Prosperity

Osmani emphasized that the coalition represents a “grand alliance” for the development, well-being, and progress of the people of Fushë Kosovë.

“This is a great coalition for the benefit of all citizens of Fushë Kosovë — one that says YES to development, welfare, and progress,” he stated.

The local branches of both LDK and PDK reportedly worked intensively in recent days to draft a joint governance plan, coordinated closely with their central party leaderships.

The finalized agreement outlines an inclusive governance model for the upcoming municipal mandate, focusing on transparency, modernization, and accountability.

“In this spirit of cooperation, the Democratic League of Kosovo and the Democratic Party of Kosovo will move forward together for the prosperity of all citizens — for our Fushë Kosovë,” Osmani concluded.

Background

The coalition follows weeks of post-election discussions as parties across Kosovo negotiate power-sharing arrangements at the local level.
Political analysts see this agreement as a significant step that could strengthen stability and foster cooperation between two of the country’s major political forces.
