Spiropali Meets Kallas: Western Balkans’ EU Integration, Including Kosovo, a Strategic Investment for the Future

Elisa Spiropali, Albania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Kaja Kallas, Vice President of the European Commission and High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

Spiropali shared on Facebook that the discussion focused on Albania’s continued role as a regional security actor and a reliable, proactive EU partner. She emphasized that the integration of the Western Balkans into the EU, including Kosovo, is a strategic investment for a shared future under the European sky.

“I was very pleased to meet today with Vice President of the European Commission and High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, to discuss Albania’s continued engagement as a regional security actor, a reliable and proactive EU partner, fully aligned with Union policies, including ongoing and unconditional support for Ukraine,” Spiropali wrote.

She also thanked Kallas for the EU’s financial support to Albania, particularly in areas of security and defense, and reiterated her conviction that the EU integration of the Western Balkans, including Kosovo, represents a long-term strategic investment for the common European future.
