A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 has struck Turkey, according to CNN Türk.
The quake occurred in Balıkesir but was felt in nearby cities, including Istanbul, Izmir, and Bursa. So far, no casualties have been reported.
A few minutes after the 6.1-magnitude tremor, another aftershock of magnitude 4.2 struck the same area.
The earthquake, which was felt across many cities in the Marmara and Aegean regions—particularly Istanbul and Izmir—occurred at a depth of 5.99 kilometers.
