U.S. President Donald Trump pulled a folded piece of paper from his jacket pocket during an appearance on CBS’s “60 Minutes”, revealing what he described as a list of eight wars he claims to have ended.

“I brought a list. Look at this. Wars. How many of them I solved,” Trump said as he read aloud the names of countries.
“Cambodia and Thailand. Kosovo and Serbia. Congo and Rwanda. Pakistan and India — they shot down seven planes. Israel and Iran, have you heard about that? Egypt and Ethiopia. Ethiopia built a big dam. Armenia and Azerbaijan. And if you look, Israel and Hamas — which, you know, is a tough situation,” Trump continued.

According to Trump, he managed to “solve eight out of nine wars,” claiming his unconventional approach brought peace through economic pressure rather than diplomacy.

“You know how I solved them? In 60% of cases, I said — if you don’t stop fighting, I’ll put tariffs on your countries, and you won’t be able to do business with the United States,” he explained.

When asked by host Norah O’Donnell why such tactics wouldn’t work with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump replied:

“I think it does work with Putin. I treated him differently because we don’t do much business with Russia, you know? He’s not someone who buys a lot from us. But I think he’d like to. I think he wants to trade with us and make a lot of money for Russia. I like that.”

Pressed further on whether he could reach a deal with Putin in the coming months, Trump said confidently:

“I think we will, yes. I think he really wants to do business with the U.S. It worked with India, it worked with Pakistan, and it worked with 60% of these countries. I can tell you, without tariffs and trade, I wouldn’t have been able to do business.”
