Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic held talks today with the Russian Ambassador to Serbia, Aleksandr Botsan-Kharchenko, discussing bilateral relations, energy stability, and regional challenges with a particular focus on gas supply.
“We paid special attention to gas supply and the conditions that ensure security, price predictability, and further diversification of sources,” Vučić wrote on Instagram.
The Serbian leader stated that their goal remains the same: regarding NIS and all related measures and restrictions, Serbia will “fully respect international obligations while protecting energy security, jobs, and investments in Serbia.”
Vučić added that Serbia “will continue dialogue with determination and pragmatism, defending the interests of its citizens.”
“I am convinced that dialogue remains the best way to overcome challenges and ensure a sustainable energy future for our country,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, the United States has imposed new sanctions on the Russian oil company Lukoil, which holds the majority of shares in Serbia’s oil industry (NIS).
